What do you do when you are supposed to bare yourself, your most inner self, to the audience still largely unfamiliar with what they are about to see and hear? How do you cope with not knowing how they will react, or what their preconceived expectations are? You have a blast and give them one hell of a ride, of course!
KST was packed that night. The turnout was better than we expected, especially considering the fact that we were the only band playing for the night, it was Thursday (metal nightlife in Belgrade doesn’t really heat up until Friday), and we have published our (debut!) album just few days prior to the event. Still, the place was filled with damper ladies and gentlemen, some excited, some curious. Just as we were.
Not knowing most of the songs (save from the singles) didn’t stop them from headbanging, jumping and cheering. Even the rain (which, curiously enough, began with the first notes of the ballad ‘Let it rain’) didn’t chase them away! They seemed amazed and impressed, but not nearly as much as we were for having such a terrific audience. It was an immense pleasure and honor to play for these lovely insane hellraisers.
We all left the stage with one thought in mind – we need to do this again, as soon as possible.
The June 25 gig, however, didn’t get its successor until October 3.
